I took a page from Bob’s Malahini build and decided to construct a table to lay materials and put down the frame. I also had to get a few more power tools for the build: a Miter Saw, Band Saw, Jigsaw, and a Hand Planer. Due to the large scale of the project, I needed some space. I had decided that whatever boat I build, needed to fit in my garage so I could work on it in all seasons. The Malahini was just the right size, which was one of the primary factors in selecting it. Needless to say, it was quite the experience when I told my girlfriend she couldn’t park her car in the garage until the project was done.
So before me even getting started on the frames, the score is:
Frustrated GF: 1, Me: 0.
Thankfully my girlfriend is an artist and appreciates good construction and design. I painted the back wall with chalkboard paint to lay out further instructions and make notes throughout, which she really liked. Score.
Frustrated GF: 1, Me: 1
